Hi Shamim,
I recently updated my version of FEP Pro and I’m having a number of issues:
– Selecting a member from the directory list opens a new email, but doesn’t fill in the recipient name.
– After clicking the send button, I get a “Invalid receiver” error and the message is not sent.
– When you’re within a single (already recieved) message, #fep-content-single-sidebar is not displaying properly (avatars from multiple messages are displayed).
I contacted my ISP about this and received the following (they were unable to fix the problem):
————————-
Hello,My name is Jimmy. I’m a senior technician and I wanted to thank you for providing the steps to replicate the issue and log in credentials.
While I was able to replicate the issue I was not able to get to the root cause of the issue.
I was able to test different PHP versions ranging from 5.6 to 7.3 and neither of them resolved the error message “Invalid receiver xxxx”. I also checked your permissions and they are set correctly. Email capabilities are enabled on the account.
The error log is empty without an indicate of a server side error.
I also check the directory and saw that the user xxxx is listed in the directory. Regrettably without any further information besides the error “Invalid receiver xxxx” we will not be able to trouble shoot further.
However I did notice that you are on the Pro version of the plugin. To be exact the Front End PM PRO. Having access the Pro version gives you access to the plugin developer, which in this case is perfect, as you will need to reach out to the Plugin developer
With the error message being specific to the form not picking up on the recipient SteveMTNO as being a valid recipient, the developer will be the best option to review why the plugin may be running into this error.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Jimmy

Thanks,

December 28, 2019 at 11:27 am #32599Shamim HasanKeymasterDo you use any custom code for this plugin in your website?
From which version you updated?
Can you give me access to your website to debug? If yes please use https://www.shamimsplugins.com/sensitive-information/December 29, 2019 at 1:23 am #32608SteveMTNOParticipantYes, some of the template have been modified.
I don’t recall offhand which version I was using before the update.
Login info was sent to the secure URL as requested.
December 29, 2019 at 2:46 pm #32624Shamim HasanKeymasterIt is showing i do not have access to message system.
Please create 2 accounts, 1 is admin and another is normal user and send credentials to me.December 30, 2019 at 10:59 am #32652Shamim HasanKeymasterIt seems your issue is coming from your theme header. Please copy latest header.php file from parent theme then edit what is necessary and replace in child theme.
You can see https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-not-working-with-spacious-theme/Let me know.
December 30, 2019 at 1:05 pm #32665SteveMTNOParticipantI’m not sure what to do here. I’ve been using the Spacious child theme for a couple years with no issues. The problems I’m encountering started a couple weeks ago..
Can you be more specific in what I need to do or what I need to look for?
December 30, 2019 at 11:50 pm #32682Shamim HasanKeymasterWhen did you last updated that theme (parent theme)?
Can you copy parent theme’s header.php file and make your changes in that file and replace your child theme’s header.php with this one? If you can that will be better otherwise i can write some code to bypass that error from that theme.Let me know.
December 31, 2019 at 1:02 am #32685SteveMTNOParticipantThe parent theme is up to date.
Do I just need to replace the child header.php with the parent header.php? I’m not sure what changes need to be made once it’s copied.
December 31, 2019 at 11:36 am #32689Shamim HasanKeymasterYour parent theme made some changes in header.php which is breaking changes but your child theme’s header.php file is not up to date.
Can you send me your both headers.php file to me so that i can compare and assist you to modify changes?January 4, 2020 at 11:47 pm #32857SteveMTNOParticipantHi Shamim,
Did you receive the files I sent? It’s been a few days now…
Steve
January 5, 2020 at 5:07 am #32861SteveMTNOParticipantbtw – I’m able to send replies to existing messages. I just can’t create new ones..
January 5, 2020 at 12:12 pm #32882Shamim HasanKeymasterSorry, i didnot received your files. You can zip your files and send here. Or you can send to my email.
January 6, 2020 at 12:05 am #32904SteveMTNOParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.January 6, 2020 at 2:58 pm #32936Shamim HasanKeymasterbackup your child theme’s header.php
Then replace your child theme’s header.php with your parent theme’s header.php
Then test.
Let me know.January 7, 2020 at 1:53 am #32953SteveMTNOParticipantI copied the parent header.php to the child theme. We’re definitely making progress.
I’m able to create and send new messages now, but the avatar issue when you go into an existing message is still there. They display properly when you’re in the message box, but when you go to a single message, you still see all of the avatars from the other messages, and they are misaligned too.
Let me know if you need me to send you a screengrab of this.
thanks,
Steve
